Free & Private Online Browser Utility
Convert Images to PDF
Combine photos, digital receipts, and image scans into a standardized multi-page PDF document directly in your browser. The tool uses pdf-lib with an HTML5 canvas pipeline: each input image, whether JPEG or PNG, is drawn onto a white-background canvas and re-encoded to JPEG at quality 0.92 before being embedded in the PDF. This means PNG transparency is composited onto white, and JPEG inputs are re-compressed at quality 0.92. The resulting PDF contains JPEG-encoded image streams. You can rearrange page order with visual reordering controls, select between native dimensions, A4, or US Letter formats, and configure margins for clean document presentation. The entire process runs in local browser memory without uploading sensitive files to remote servers. The tool does not upload passports or receipts to cloud storage and does not impose watermarks.
How to use
-
Step 1: Select Source Photos and Scans
Drag and drop your JPG or PNG image files into the upload box or browse from your device. Thumbnails appear in the visual page organizer as each file loads.
-
Step 2: Arrange Sequence and Configure Page Layout
Use the arrow buttons to organize page order. Choose between Fit to Image, A4, or US Letter formats, and set your desired margins and orientation.
-
Step 3: Compile and Download Your PDF
Click Generate PDF to serialize the document in local browser memory and download the completed multi-page PDF directly to your device.
Worked example
Input: docs/samples/sample-photo.jpg (450,169 bytes) and docs/samples/sample-logo.png (11,133 bytes)
Output: Compiled 2 images (450,169-byte JPEG photo and 11,133-byte PNG logo, totaling 461,302 bytes) into a single 130,257-byte two-page PDF document using canvas re-encode at JPEG quality 0.92. In the output PDF: photo image stream 113,639 bytes (1376×768), logo image stream 15,279 bytes (500×500 on white canvas)
Example; results depend on your input.
Tips & limits
- All input images, including JPEG and PNG, are drawn onto a white canvas and re-encoded to JPEG at quality 0.92 before embedding in the PDF. PNG transparency is composited onto white before re-encoding.
- You can mix both JPG and PNG files freely in the same document. Both formats go through the same canvas JPEG re-encode pipeline; PNG transparency is composited onto white.
- When preparing visa or job applications, check whether the submission portal mandates A4 dimensions or accepts native image boundaries.
- Because file compilation runs inside local RAM, sensitive personal documents like passport scans and tax returns never touch external servers.
Common problems
- Pages display uneven white borders along top or side edges
This occurs when placing images of differing proportions onto fixed A4 or Letter pages. Switch Page Size to Fit to eliminate margins and wrap pages directly to image bounds.
- One or more photo thumbnails appear sideways
Ensure page orientation is set to Auto, or pre-rotate portrait photos before uploading so the layout engine positions them upright.
- Browser slows down when attempting to compile dozens of photos
Assembling hundreds of high-resolution phone camera files requires substantial browser memory. Combine images in batches of 25 to 50 for optimal performance.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Will converting images to PDF degrade photo clarity or resolution?
The tool re-encodes every image through an HTML5 canvas at JPEG quality 0.92, which applies one round of JPEG compression. On the sample photo (450,169-byte input), the resulting image stream in the PDF was 113,639 bytes. For most photos the visual difference at quality 0.92 is subtle, but the conversion is not lossless.
Can I mix both JPG and PNG images within the same PDF document?
Yes. You can upload any combination of JPEG and PNG files. The tool processes both through the same canvas JPEG re-encode pipeline at quality 0.92. PNG transparent areas are composited onto a white background before encoding.
How does the Fit to Image setting differ from standard A4?
Fit creates custom page boundaries matching the exact pixel dimensions of each image, eliminating white letterboxing. A4 places images onto standardized 210 by 297mm sheets with optional margins.
Are my sensitive identity documents or financial receipts uploaded to any server?
No. All file reading, page dictionary construction, and PDF serialization happen exclusively inside your local browser memory. Zero document data is ever sent to external cloud servers.
Why do government visa and university portals require single PDF files instead of images?
Administrative and consular portals require unified multi-page PDFs because the ISO 32000 standard specifies consistent cross-platform rendering and archival durability across different operating systems.
Is there a limit on how many images I can combine into a single PDF?
There is no server-enforced cap. Because the tool operates in client memory, you can comfortably assemble dozens of high-resolution images depending on your system available RAM.
